South African Culinary Carnival
Benefitting the Sunshine Kids Foundation
In January 2016, our first ever South African Culinary Carnival was an experience for the kids of the Sunshine Kids Foundation that involved cooking demonstrations, a culinary "Trip to South Africa" filled with multiple food booths featuring South African cuisine, balloon making and arts and crafts. Every child was giving an apron and made a "Chef for a Day". Over 35 volunteers attended. Our goal was to give the children a day to be kids and to be chefs!
Benefitting the Star of Hope Mission
On June 2015, Peli Peli shut down its Galleria location for one night and served a complimentary 3-course experience to over 150 homeless clients of the Star of Hope Mission. Complimentary professional photography was provided as well as makeovers prior to the event. We had over 50 volunteers come out and run food, walk guests to tables and clean tables. The Mayor of Houston proclaimed June 15 as "Table Service Day" in honor of this event.
